Dear Parents,
It is just wonderful to be back in Australia, and back at Holy Cross!! My pilgrimage in Italy, the Passion Play in Oberammagau and the family holiday were memorable, fantastic times that I will remember forever. The Churches and places I have seen, the experiences I have had and the rest I have had both physically and mentally have provided me with opportunities for learning and renewal and I feel so privileged. I would like to thank Trish and Barb for their support in looking after the school administration while I was gone. Thanks to all the staff and people who went up a notch to help out also. It is also great to be back at work with our lovely children and people in our school community. The children and everyone have been so welcoming and genuinely pleased (I think) to see me back. I should go away more often.

On Monday 9th August all Government schools are closed and no buses will run. That means children who normally catch Government school buses will need to be brought to and picked up from school by private cars please. GisBus will still operate BUT NO OTHER BUSES AT ALL will operate on this day.

Families of First Eucharist Children have Activity Nights on either Tuesday 10th August at St Brigid’s or Thursday 12th August at Holy Cross. Both nights start at 7.00pm and at least one parent from each family needs to be in attendance with the children.

We are starting to see issues arising from children abusing websites like Facebook. I would seriously question primary aged children using this website or similar ones without direct adult supervision. Children of this age are not mentally mature enough to understand the consequences and implications of material they post so supervision is essential. We have a Cyberbullying newsletter posted on our website for further news and information.

Forms will go home very shortly with appointment times for next week’s reporting times. A time was even given to families who did not return a request of time slip and we hope all can make the time given.
